Children Made To Order In Central Europe

Children Made To Order In Central Europe

Before the end of last year, the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior published a short report that did not even penetrate the Czech media. The police accused six people of a Ukrainian reproduction clinic for the crime of child trafficking. Illegal profit 1-2 million Euro, penalty of 15 years of prison.

Undisturbed, and originally without the interest of the authorities, capital of Czech Republic Prague has become the center of a lucrative business, which police officers refer to as the cynical production and sale of children.

In the last three years, at least thirty newborns were born in Prague hospitals, who then – and it was only a few days old  babies – continued all over the world.

Slogans from the Ukrainian clinic

All cases concern the so-called surrogacy: a foreign woman takes away the embryo of real biological parents, the children are born in Prague and here they are also officially transferred to the father – a pre-arranged "buyer" who will take the child.

In this way, foreigners can take a child from the Czech Republic for as little as 60,000 euros, (that is 1,5 million Czech crowns). Among those interested are gay couples and so-called singles, men who have lived without a partner for a long time and state as a motive that their mother wanted a grandson.

The service is provided to clients from all over the world by a private clinic based in Ukraine. According to the findings of the Czech web Seznamzpravy, detectives from the National Headquarters against organized crime have been dealing with this case for three years now. According to the first detected case, when the child was taken to Spain, they named the event Operation Spaniel.

"Children are made to order and for a fee, this is not primarily about providing services for infertile couples who have health complications and cannot have their own children," confirms  spokesman for the National Center against Organized Crime of Czech Republic.

For example, one child born in Prague is later lost somewhere in the United States, and it is still being investigated. With others settled in the so-called eggs for transporting infants, people are leaving Prague that no one has checked whether they can take proper care of the child at all. Or whether they are pedophiles.

The case, as documented and verified by the Czech journalists, clearly shows that "shops" with newborns can take place in Prague for a simple reason: in the Czech Republic – unlike other countries – there are no clear rules for surrogacy.

According to all verified findings there are two central locations. In addition to Prague, the aforementioned Ukraine – specifically Kharkov, where the reproductive clinic of the Doctor Alexander Feskov is located. In Ukraine, Feskov is a recognized expert in the field of infertility treatment, but also an entrepreneur who has built his successful business on, among other things, artificial insemination services.

The Kiev Ministry of the Interior says:

"The perpetrators have recruited low-income women to participate in the so-called surrogacy program. The women went to give birth to babies in the Czech Republic… Subsequently, surrogate mothers were forced to pretend to be biological and give up parental rights in favour of foreigners.”

However, according to the findings of Czech police officers, the allegations made in Ukraine did not change much. The business of "producing" children runs as before, albeit on a smaller scale.

Those interested from all over the world can still choose which child they would like in the Kharkov clinic catalog. Race, skin colour, hair colour – nothing is a problem. Not even twins of different genders.

The clinic selects a suitable egg donor from its database accordingly. And then, according to Ukrainian police, the organizers recruit a woman to remove the embryo. At the same time, they take advantage of poor women and pay them a reward of $10,000.

These women, surrogate mothers, then move to Prague before giving birth, where they are taken over by a well-organized team: a nanny, an interpreter and a man who can deal with the authorities. They will register a surrogate mother with a doctor and take out insurance for her…

At that time, the "client" – the future father – usually arrives in the Czech Republic for the first time. During the investigation of the case, Czech detectives came across customers from China, the United States, Norway, Sweden, Germany or Greece.

They Pretend To Be A Couple

According to the police, the birth in Prague and the subsequent settlement of official requirements with paternity at the registry office has a reason: the clinic is circumventing Ukrainian law.

In Ukraine the law dictates that the surrogate mother may only take the child to the spouses, provided that the spouses cannot have children and have tried in vain for artificial insemination. Homosexuals are then completely excluded from the possibility of using surrogacy. This is also the answer to why homosexual couples or singles are among the clients of the Kharkov clinic who are "checked in" in Prague.

“Another reason is the relatively high level of healthcare at relatively low prices in Czechia – compared to other countries. After the birth of a child, the mother signs a set of documents in which she waives her rights to the child and consents to his / her travel to the father's country, and at the same time signs the power of attorney so that he can perform all legal acts in relation to the child independently," says a spokesman for the National Headquarters against organized crime.

"Basically, anyone who has enough money can literally get a child to order," says Lukáš Starý, a Czech representative at Eurojust, the European Judicial Cooperation Unit, which helped organize case investigations across different countries.

However, due to midwifery, newborns and their fathers got out of the sight of the authorities. In Ukraine, the clinic hid her surrogate mother, and in the Czech Republic, she was just an ordinary mother in front of doctors.

According to detectives, the group around the Feskov Clinic was well aware that it could easily circumvent strict Ukrainian laws through Prague. The service was not provided by the clinic directly, but through contracts concluded between fathers and foreign companies.

Surrogacy payments then ended up in Cyprus and Swiss accounts belonging to companies that Dr. Feskov does not own on paper, but in fact controls them from the background.

The individual links in the chain, i.e. people at different levels of the group, did not know each other. The organizers also instructed them to remain tacitly silent about the connection with the respected Ukrainian clinic.

Here a comment from the discussion on Czech web:

“It is the culmination of cynicism and parasitism based on corrupt hunger for money, no matter what – morality, society, human beings, children, crazy – all aside when it comes to money, and this is exactly what destroys the world today. Everyone fell ill with money. Corruption in Ukraine is the highest level.

In terms of corruption, Ukraine is indeed one of the most corrupt countries in the world. The fact is that all the anti-corruption measures that Zelenskyj has taken so far have only been cosmetic…”

Czech police think that the case described could persuade politicians to tie surrogacy to clear rules. So far, such paragraphs have not been written.

World is threatened with famine

World is threatened with famine – warning of German minister

(information on important politics meeting from Czech web)

Russia's invasion of Ukraine threatens the world's biggest famine since World War II. At a press conference on Wednesday18th May 2022 German Development Minister Svenja Schulze said this at the start of a two-day meeting of development ministers from the countries of the group of major world economies of the G7. She said that it was therefore necessary to create an international alliance for food security.
"Food security was a problem before the war, but the Russian invasion of Ukraine dramatically escalated the situation," Mrs.Schulze said. "The world is facing the biggest famine since World War II," she warned.

The G7 food ministers invited as guests Indonesia, which now chairs the G20 group of the world's largest economies, India, Senegal and representatives of the UN development programme and the World Bank. Ukrainian prime minister Denys Shmyhal will also participate in the debates via video link.
One of the main topics of the meeting will be ensuring the export of agricultural products from Ukraine. Many countries in North Africa and Asia depend on this land, which is called the breadbasket of Europe.

Due to the Russian blockade of Ukrainian Black Sea ports, it is impossible to export grain and other food by sea, European states, including Poland and Germany, began to organize export by rail.

Thus, according to the German minister, food security is the most pressing issue that the ministers of the countries of the group will discuss. In Europe, we have too many fields sown with profitable crops, relying on imports from Ukraine, Russia and India. All three countries have enough to worry about.

Many of us can ask how it is possible that Africa, where it is possible to harvest crops twice a year is constantly dependent on food aid?

Global annual wheat production exceeds 700 million tons and is growing every year. The largest wheat producer is the European Union with an annual production of around 150 million tonnes. France and Germany have the largest share here. Only China, with a production of 130 million tonnes a year, can match Europe in wheat production. India ( 90 million tons) is also a major producer.  Russia (70 mil. tonnes) and the USA (60 mil. tons). In the Czech Republic, about 5.5 million tons of wheat are grown annually.
The EU is the largest consumer of wheat, accounting for 18% of global consumption. This is followed by China (17%), India (12%) and Russia (6%). Most of the wheat is consumed in the countries where it is grown, and about a fifth of the production goes to international trade. The largest wheat exporters are the United States (26% of global exports), Canada (14%) and Russia (10%).

Another important agriculture product is sunflower seed for oil production.
The three most important world growers produce 70-75% of the total volume of sunflower seeds. This is on first place  Ukraine (for the marketing year 2021/2022, the production estimate was about 17 million  tons), Russia (15,5 million t) and the European Union ( 10.5 million t).

Not only are food prices in Europe and around the world already rising rapidly, but the situation may get even worse. Let's hope that politicians will find a quick and good solution.

Russian government spokesmen on Ukraine

Russian spokesmen are very sharp in their comments on the events in Ukraine. As we read their statements during last few days, a chill runs down our spines. They choose very sharp words.
"Russia will respond harshly to further strikes by Ukraine against military facilities on Russian territory initiated by the West", said Russian diplomat spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. According to her, the West openly encourages Kyiv to use the supplied weapons to attack Russia. Several fuel and ammunition depots have recently caught fire in southern and western Russia, with Moscow blaming Ukraine.
"What option do you leave us, idiots? Complete destruction of the remaining Ukraine? A nuclear attack? ” Indicated the possible “ answers ”of the editor-in-chief of the state television, M. Simonjana, who, together with Zacharov, is considered a“ Putin's fury ”and the face of Russian propaganda.

The flames engulfed another strategic point of the Russians. Military warehouses near Belgorod have been burning several times this month. The question of whether Ukrainian forces, Russian sabotage, the Kremlin itself, or the interplay of coincidences are to blame remains unanswered.

This map shows fires on Russian territory recently

"Efforts to arm Ukraine, even with heavy weapons, are actions that threaten the continent's security and provoke instability," said Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov in response to words from the British Foreign Secretary. Liz Truss said Russian troops must be pushed out of all of Ukraine and the Allies must "redouble" their efforts and send more military equipment to Kiev.
A spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy also accused the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) of passing data on Russian forces to the intelligence services of the West and Ukraine.

More deliveries of Allied weapons are pouring into Ukraine. The United States in particular is showing faith in Ukraine's victory over Russia. At the summit in Germany, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin pledged to move "heaven and earth" for Ukraine's victory.
Germany has announced that it will send 50 anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine.

In an address to the Australian Parliament at the end of March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explicitly requested the 11-ton multi-purpose transporter.
The Bushmaster armored vehicles from Australia are already in action. Footage of the Ukrainian army testing them in combat has appeared on social networks.

Ukrainian Mariupol fallen

The Ukrainian town Mariupol at Azov sea had fallen, The city of Mariupol is under the control of the armed forces of Russia, the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic, announced Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The attack on the azovstal steel works, located in the city and hiding in them the remaining Ukrainian defenders of the city, Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled, wrote the agency Tass.

"Today the whole of Mariupol is under the control of the Russian army, the people's militia of the Donetsk People's Republic. The territory of the azovstal plant with the remnants of nationalists and foreign mercenaries located there is safely blocked, " minister Shoigu said.

More than two thousand militants were blocked in the azovstal steelworks. According to Shoigu, at the time of the encirclement of Mariupol, the number of foreign troops fighting on the side of Ukraine was about 8100 people.

"As for those who did not flee from the azovstal plant, they are blocked there thoroughly and around the perimeter. We need about three to four days to complete this work, " Shoigu said.

Czechia and Slovakia in wild times

Czechia and Slovakia in wild times

Since 1993 devided into this two states = Czech republic and Slovak republic, former Czechoslovakia. Our territory is in center of Europe but as we are relatively small two states you will not read a lot about us in the last months though we are in a way in the heart of events.
Slovakia has about 90kms border with Ukraine, Czechia not but in spite of it we are the target of many Ukrainians escaping from the terrible war conflict. Already before the battles in Ukrainian territory started in Czech Republic lived about 250 000 Ukrainians. Finding here language belonging to the Slav languages and relatively good opportunities in comparison with their home country a lot of them are staying for a long time. What is a bit surprising for me is that many left their children with their grandpas and grandmas in their home country. That shows how economically difficult must be the situation in Ukraine for long time already.

Since the end of February came over 300 000 Ukrainians to Czechia. That is really a lot to manage when you consider that Czech republic has about 10,7 million inhabitants. Slovakia is smaller with about 5,4 million inhabitants.
Having in Czechia already family members or friends it is logical a lot of people coming from Ukraine want to stay in our country. But for Czechia it is really a very big number of people.

Ukrainians waiting on border

In 2018, the world-famous Czech demographer Tomáš Sobotka of the Vienna Demographic Institute participated in an international study that confirmed the "exodus" of residents from east to west of Europe. The study already four years before the war in Ukraine predicted a steady decline in the population of Ukraine and other eastern European states and the movement of their population in a westerly direction. The war is likely to intensify the exodus of eastern Europeans. So will there not eventually be a kind of " people-free zone " separating Russia from the European Union on the territory that the Ukrainians are defending? And is there any way to prevent the depopulation of Ukraine? According to Tomáš Sobotka, hardly. "I estimate that in the Czech Republic will remain 60 to 70 percent of Ukrainian refugees," he says.
Up to half a million refugees are likely to arrive directly in the Czech Republic. This is calculated by one of the scenarios of the Ministry of internal affairs at beginning of April.
That is really an extreme number especially when our national economy is weakened by the covid crisis. Minister of interior of Czech republic said that government has prepared several scenarios and the most probable is considered that about 500-600 thousands of Ukrainians will come.
Most of refugees want to stay in capital Praha and that is causing a lot of problems. Praha with 1.32  million inhabitants has just now already 70 000 Ukrainians which is 5,25%.
